In this post, you can see the second problem being the balance shaft. Balance shafts are placed in the block of an engine to keep it balanced, like the name suggests. The many different parts of an engine cause it to be unbalanced, so these are placed to alleviate that unbalance. This one here had issues with its bearings which affects the engine enough to the point where it also affects the oil pump, which was the other problem. This balance shaft had to be removed. The housing in which it sat in was blown with an air compressor to remove any oil that was in it. It was then replaced with a new balance shaft. After all this was done, the engine was then reassembled and the car was ready to operate again!
